_rAbout the Author Dr Aruchamy Lakshmanaswamy, MD DCH, is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics at Coimbatore Medical College, Tamil Nadu. He obtained his MBBS degree in 1989 and DCH in 1992 from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was awarded the degree of MD Pediatrics at Madras Medical College, Chennai in 1997 and subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics of Coimbatore Medical College, Coimbatore; Government, Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem, Tamil Nadu. Later, he worked as an associate professor at Christian Medical College, Vellore. In his teaching career spanning over 30 years, he has authored several books for medical and paramedical students and practicing pediatricians such as Practical Pediatrics and Textbook of Pediatrics and is quite popular among the students for his teaching skills and analytical approach. His books are recommended for the training syllabus of District Early Intervention Center (DEIC) under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) program under National Health Commission throughout the country.
