This IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics) textbook focuses on pediatric endocrinology. Endocrine system plays a critical role in physical and mental development, especially during the delicate antenatal and postnatal period as well as during adolescence. This book comprised of 21 sections, which include basics in pediatric endocrinology, clinical pointers to endocrine disorders in pediatric practice, disorders of puberty, thyroid gland and its disorders, the adrenal gland and its disorders, disorders of sexual development, disorders of water, electrolytes and acid base, disorders of calcium, phosphorus and bone metabolism, disorders of parathyroid hormone, polyglandular syndromes, hypoglycemia, diabetes mellitus, lipid disorders in children, obesity in children, low birth weight and endocrine dysfunction in postnatal life, practical protocols for dynamic testing in children, radiology in pediatric endocrinology, drugs in pediatric endocrinology, which are further divided into 60 chapters. The book covers almost all aspects of pediatric endocrinology, growth disorders and diabetes in children. This book is enriched with flowcharts, diagrams, photographs and guidelines. At the end of each chapter, there is a comprehensive bibliography to expand readers’ knowledge beyond this book.
